Davis Drive Art

Welcome to the @rtroom!

Davis Drive offers a variety of art classes for students. Many mediums are used during instruction in order to widen student awareness and increase technical and artistic skill. 

Lessons vary according to grade level and not only provide the skills and objectives required for the arts curriculum, but tie in closely with the core standard course of study as well.

General Visual Art Syllabus


I. Materials
A. Composition Notebook and/or Sketchbook
B. Standard #2 Pencil
C. Artist Pen
D. Ultra Fine Tip Sharpie (black)
E. Glue Sticks (6th grade)
F. Vinyl / Hi-Polymer Eraser
     Additional art materials will be provided to students for use during class. It is essential that students use these materials appropriately and respectfully.

II. Classwork
A. The majority of all work will be completed in class. 

B. Regular attendance will aid in the timely completion of art projects.

III. Grading Procedures
A. A student’s final nine weeks average will be based upon the following 
   information.
1. Projects: Each assignment will be given two grades after Reflecting on    your work:
a.The first grade is based on meeting the criteria of each individual   project and the effort demonstrated in completing the assign   ment. (40%)
b. Technique/neatness of work. (35%)
2. Worksheets/Critiques/Classwork (15%) that accompany class projects.
3. Sketchbook / Notebook checks (10%)
   
IV. Classroom Guidelines and Procedures
A. Guidelines and Procedures have been discussed and are posted in the 
   classroom. It is imperative that every student abide by these in order to    maintain a safe and successful environment.
B. A copy will be sent home with each student that should be signed by the 
  student and guardian and returned as soon as possible.
